Human Machine Interface Training: Studio 5000 View Designer Basics

Prerequisite: Studio 5000 Programmable Logic Controller Training or equivalent (contact instructor Dr. Boyd dboyd@kent.edu if you have questions)

Our Advanced Mechatronics Laboratory is equipped with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix (Logix 5581E) processors, Allen-Bradley PanelView 5310, 10 inch graphics terminals, and Studio 5000 version 36 or later.

 

Course Objective: To enable participants to create, configure, and manage HMI applications for PanelView 5310 terminals using Studio 5000 View Designer.

 

Target Audience: Engineers, technicians, and programmers involved in developing and maintaining machine-level HMI systems.

  2. Creating and Managing Projects
  3. HMI Communications
  4. Designing Graphics Displays
  5. Implementing User Interaction
  6. Alarm and Message Handling
  7. Security
  8. Project Deployment and Runtime

 

Course Delivery

Registered participants will be provided with online material up to two weeks prior to the training. In-person, hands-on 16-hour training will consist of lecture materials and laboratory exercises. In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test are used to measure mastery of objectives. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Human Machine Interfaces Studio 5000 View Designer Basics certificate of completion.
